Gardening

I'm kind of sad to see the summer go because I will miss my flowers and vegetables. The beauty for one, but I will also miss working in the garden. It really is therapeutic. You just feel good caring for your plants and seeing what they become. I believe the women in the old days may not have had much but found great satisfaction, fulfillment in bringing up their own vegetables, flowers and making things with their own hands. I know I do. Yet, what I have enjoyed the most is being able to put those plants to use. I have loved picking my flowers and taking them to my friends as a simple gift. I don't can my vegetables maybe next year I'll learn how but I've had enough to pass along to my neighbors. It's been so fun to share. We've been counseled to build up our food storage even enough to help care for our neighbors. I"m not exactly storing it but I'm providing for my neighbors. Surely that counts for something. Maybe just the happiness it really brings.
