Vacuum Tip

Before Jarom and I moved the house we were purchasing had carpet that was about 10 years old and I wanted to replace it. So I went did all kinds of research for the best, family, friendly carpet for the best deal. Long story short, didn't get the carpet BUT I learned a few tips along the way. One was about vacuuming. I love seeing the nice lines from vacuuming and just feeling cleaner afterwards. I always used the lowest height on my vacuum to vacuum thinking it was cleaning better. Little did I know.
If you have a height adjuster for your vacuum according to your carpet pile USE IT! If you always use the lowest than you are probably doing more damage than cleaning. When you use the lowest pile for Berber carpet or hardwood floor it's fine but anything else is probably not OK. It doesn't allow air flow because the bristles are to close to the carpet. Therefore, actually rubbing dirt in instead of sucking it out. You want the bristles to just lightly sweeping the top of your carpet.
Also, a lot of vacuums have the suction on one of the sides of the vacuum instead of the center. I this is the case for yours be sure to vacuum in both directions. The suction is much stronger on one side versus the other.
